FC Goa have completed the signing of Spanish striker Airam Cabrera

After the departure of key striker Igor Angulo, FC Goa have roped in another Spanish striker Airam Cabrera on a one-year contract on Friday.

The 33 years old Spain-born striker is an experienced player having played most of his professional football in Europe. He played for various Spanish clubs that compete in different levels of the Spanish football league system. Furthermore, the player has also played for top-tier football clubs in Poland and Cyprus.

During his three years of spell at the Ekstraklasa the top-level football league in Poland, he found the back of the net 30 times while securing 4 assists in 60 appearances.

Cabrera has played 344 league fixtures since his professional debut and has scored more than 120 goals.

“I feel good, I feel motivated. I have done my homework and I feel I fit really well with the philosophy that the Club has about football and believe that I have all the tools necessary to succeed here in India.”stated Spanish striker Airam Cabrera

Airam Cabrera is the latest signing by the Goa-based club. Earlier this month the club signed Goan defender Kunal Kundaikar from Sporting Clube De Goa. Cabrera will replace Golden Boot Winner Igor Angulo and will undoubtedly add more power to the Gaurs attack.

The Gaurs have already commenced their pre-season training ahead of the Upcoming Season.

Two times runners up of the Indian Super League will look on to start the upcoming season on the front foot in the search of their maiden ISL championship.
