Football Stars Stunned at Chelsea’ Frank Lampard Sacking

Chelsea sacked Frank Lampard on Monday after the victory against Luton Town by 3-1 on Saturday thanks to a hat trick from Tammy Abraham.

Frank Lampard’s team was struggling hard in the league after a pretty good start in the early part of the season. They only managed 7 points in the last 8 games and lost 5 of those games in the Premier League.

The Blues are sitting ninth in the Premier League with just four points away from the top four spots and 11 points away from league leader Manchester United.

For the recent bad result, Chelsea board decided to sack Frank Lampard after just 18 months of managerial career at Chelsea. The reports are saying that Thomas Tuchel will be the successor of Lampard and he will be on the bench from their next match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Reaction of the Stars on Chelsea’ Frank Lampard Sacking:

FORMER ENGLAND DEFENDER GARY NEVILLE:

“I think the minute that the club spent the money that they did in the summer, and brought the players in that they brought in, it was always going to bring a lot more expectation and we know what happens at Chelsea with expectation.”

MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER PEP GUARDIOLA:

“People talk about projects and ideas. They don’t exist. You have to win or you will be replaced. I am not judging Chelsea’s decision. I respect their decision. But our world is to win as much as possible.”

LEICESTER CITY MANAGER BRENDAN RODGERS:

“He had the courage to step out of an amazing career and could have taken an easier route. It was a job he couldn’t turn down, even though he didn’t have a lot of experience.

“Results haven’t been what he would have wanted, but I feel it’s a job that needed time.”

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR’S CURRENT MANAGER AND FORMER CHELSEA MANAGER JOSE MOURINHO:

“I’m always sad when a colleague loses his job and of course Frank is not just a colleague he’s an important person in my career so of course I feel sorry. It’s the brutality of modern football. When you become a manager it’s something that you have to know – that sooner or later it’s going to happen to you.”

Chelsea will play against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday and it will be interesting to see who will be in the technical area for Chelsea.
