Bayer Leverkusen has completed the signing of Toulouse attacker Amine Adli. The club made the official announcement earlier on their social media accounts.

Leverkusen have been in the market to find a replacement in attack after Leon Bailey left for Aston Villa. Adli was considered as the ideal option to fill in the role.

Adli joins Leverkusen from Toulouse on a five-year deal. Leverkusen had competition from the likes of Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Leicester City for signing the 21-year-old.

LEVERKUSEN BETTING ON YOUNGSTER ADLI

Amine Adli is a product of the Toulouse youth system. Adli has very little experience in the top league. He has only appeared in 4 Ligue1 matches. However, this was partly due to the fact that his club was relegated.

The French U18 international did show his talent and ability last season. He scored 8 times in 33 appearances for his club in the Ligue2. Toulouse however was unfortunate to not get a promotion, after losing out on the play-offs. Now, it seems that Adli is ready for a bigger challenge and his club was ready to let him go.

For Leverkusen, the club is taking a risk in bringing Adli. The club is aware of the lack of experience the player has, but are confident in his talent. With the departure of Leon Bailey, there is also the need to freshen the attack line. The major question is if Adli can live up to the expectation.

Adli is joining Leverkusen on a five-year deal. The transfer fees in not know at the moment. However, it could be around €15 million including add-ons.
