About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Bayern Munich will be without their French defenders Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard till the next international break. The pair is not fit and there are reports coming that Pavard could be out for several weeks.

Hernandez picked up his injury when he was playing with France in the Euro 2020. However, Pavard got injured during the training and could be missing for some time. Bayern officially started their Bundesliga campaign with a 1-1 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach last Friday.

The injury concern for their defenders will be a cause of concern for Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga champions are already short of options in the defence and the fitness concern for Hernandez and Pavard will be a cause of concern.

PAVARD AND HERNANDEZ INJURY A DEFENSIVE HEADACHE FOR BAYERN

Without Pavard and Hernandez, Bayern Munich will be stretched at the back. The centre-back options for manager Julian Nagelsmann are Dayot Upamecano and Niklas Sule, with youngster Tanguy Nianzou the only other option. Not having Hernandez till September will become more problematic if anyone else is injured.

As for the right-back position, the club has been in the market to strengthen it. However, Bayern could not land any of their targets. With Pavard getting injured, the only other right-backs available are Bouna Sarr and Josip Stanisic.
