Hero I-League Qualifiers 2021 sign up 1Sports as broadcasters

The Hero I-League Qualifiers (HILQ) 2021, currently occurring in Bangalore, is set to be broadcast live on 1Sports TV channel starting October 12.

The tournament will determine which club earns a place this season in the Hero I-League. Hero I-League’s Official Facebook Page already streams it live. Beginning October 12, viewers can also tune in to the 1Sports Channel to get in on the action.

The 2021 Hero I-League Qualifiers features a pool of 9 teams, fractionated into two groups, playing in a round-robin format. The teams at the top from either group make it to the Final Round. Once again, the teams play in a round-robin format. This set of matches then goes on to which club gains promotion to the wanted Hero I-League.

Sunando Dhar, CEO of AIFF Leagues, spoke on the latest signing, We thank 1Sports for telecasting the Hero I-League Qualifiers this season. We have already been producing a high-quality broadcast on the Hero I-League’s Facebook page, which, I am sure, the fans will also be able to enjoy on television now.

The tournament will consist of 26 matches. The group stage will have 20 matches and the remaining 6 matches will be played in the Final Round.

The last term, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the much-anticipated Hero I-League had to be called off. The teams are playing through the qualifying rounds to earn a spot in the top-tier of the I-League.

A majority of exposure was being shifted to the gainful football league, the Indian Super League. Now the HILQ have roped in a telecaster, in the form of 1Sports. It will be riveting to watch the impact the I-League now has on its viewers.
