Mohammedan SC Sign Former Mohun Bagan Player Shilton D’Silva

I-League side Mohammedan SC announced the arrival of Indian midfielder Shilton D’Silva, on Monday (January 4).

Shilton D’Silva carries a lot of experience on this back having played for several top clubs in the past. His addition to the Black Panthers squad will be a get boost for the Jose Hevia coached side.

The Mumbai born player represented India Under-16 and Under-19. The player even got the nod to play four games for the Under-23 side. He even played three games for the senior national side, making his debut on 21st March 211 against Chinese Taipei. Shilton came on as a substitute, as he saw India win the game 3-0.

“The blackpanthers sign former Mohunbagan AC midfielder Shilton D’Silva !,” the club tweeted.

Shilton started his youth career in 2007 with Mahindra United and played for three years before moving to Pailan Arrows (currently known as Indian Arrows) in 2010. The midfielder found the net five times in nine appearances for the club across three years.

He was very soon roped in by Bengaluru FC and stayed with the club for a season, but unfortunately didn’t make a single appearance for them. The 28-year-old midfielder played for Mumbai FC and then for Mohun Bagan AC.

Mohammedan SC begin training for I-League 2020/21:

The Black Panthers have started their training for the upcoming edition of the I-League which is to begin on January 9. Mohammedan SC will play the season opener against Sudeva Delhi FC at the Salt Late Stadium.

All games will be held in Kolkata behind closed doors owing to the concerns caused due to COVID-19. Mohammedan will see several new faces alongside Shilton D’Silva on their side this season, but their aim will remain to win the I-League 2020/21.
