Igor Stimac to be given a 1-year extension by AIFF

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Igor Stimac may continue as Indian National Football Team‘s manager for a year. And According to sources closer to 420 Grams panellist- Jaydeep Basu the AIFF (All India Football Federation) technical committee may officially announce their decision on Monday.

Igor Stimac was appointed as India’s head coach in May 2019. And he was recently given a temporary three months extension which led to speculation. That the Croatian World Cup winner’s time may come to an end with the Blue Tigers.

During the 2022 World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup, the Indian Team under the Croatian finished just third in Group E. This led to missing their chances to qualify for the World Cup. But however, the Blue Tigers managed to qualify for the third round of the AFC Asian Cup with just one win.

Igor Stimac has a poor record as head coach of India, winning just two out of the fifteen games. And drawing six, losing seven and registering a win percentage with just 13.3%. But however, the players seem to be given positive reviews about him. It will be interesting to see how will be the glory of Team India under Stimac in the upcoming future.
