Odisha FC: Former head coach Stuart Baxter returns to Kaizer Chief

South African professional football club Kaizer Chief that participates in the Premier Soccer League have signed former head coach of Odisha FC Stuart Baxter. The tactician had already managed the Naturena based club earlier. Under him, the Chiefs played 126 fixtures over three years.

The England U-19 coach has signed a two-year deal with the Chiefs with an option to extend the contract for two more years.

Baxter led the Amakhosi team to win two league titles in the 2012/2013 and 2014/2015 seasons, and a runners-up title in  2013/2014.

“I am feeling very, very comfortable with the decision to come back here. I think this time there will be a lot of expectations and will have to manage that. This time, it’s a tougher league. The league has improved and even the bottom teams are no pushovers. Now, they are all tight games,”– Baxter

The Juggernauts played 14 matches under him, although they could only manage to win one. Due to a controversial comment made during an ISL post-match presentation, Odisha FC sacked head coach Stuart Baxter.

Baxter has left his ISL stint behind and is ready to take up the responsibilities of his former club. And looks forward to having more trophy-laden campaigns in the future with the Chiefs.
