Italian manager in Chelsea’s mind if they sack Mauricio Pochettino

Allegri

Reports have named one manager that could now be in line to take charge at Chelsea if the job becomes available in the near future. TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Chelsea could look at Massimiliano Allegri if they decide to sack current boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino has had his moments at Chelsea

Chelsea’s position in the Premier League table doesn’t look great. They currently sit on 10th place with 16 point in 13 games. They are already 12 points away from the top 4. However, Chelsea have had their good moments this season. In fact, they haven’t lost a single game yet this season against the so called ‘top 6 clubs’. The Blues have secured 6 points in 4 games against Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, scoring 11 goals across those 4 games.

However, the usual talk of a potential managerial change has not disappeared. There have still been claims that Pochettino is under pressure. The pressure must surely have increased after the disappointing performance away at Newcastle last week. The Argentine manager was forced to watch that match from the stands after being suspended for taking 3 yellow cards this season.

Allegri just an option for Chelsea at the moment

As talks about Pochettino’s future get louder, it is inevitable that some new names would emerge. However, Allegri has been a long-term reported candidate for the job at Stamford Bridge. The reports and rumors have intensified after Allegri refused to commit his future to current club Juventus.

At the moment, a lot of managers are being linked to Chelsea and Massimiliano Allegri is just one name in the hat. The new Chelsea owners however should stick true to their word and give Pochettino time to work with his young squad.
