About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

The forgotten man Jack Wilshere signs a short-term deal with Championship side AFC Bournemouth.

Jack announced his comeback with AFC Bournemouth in a brilliant fashion after scoring in a 2-1 FA Cup win over Crawley. The 29-year-old began training with Bournemouth in December. After terminating a contract with West Ham United ending a 2-year stay.

Following an impressive return against Crawley, Wilshere scored and assisted in a 3-2 victory against Birmingham. Furthermore, with this victory AFC Bournemouth ended a winless streak which dropped them to the last play-off place.

Jack Wilshere burst onto the scene with Arsenal and was considered to be the next big thing. With Englishmen winning PFA Young POTY in his first full season. Further, his performances led to his inclusion in the PFA Team of the Year.

However, Jack Wilshere did not fulfill his potential as injuries ravaged his career. As a result, one of England’s best talent’s 17-year stay with Gunners ended after 197 appearances which included 2 FA Cup titles.

Remontada Season for Jack Wilshere:

After his release from West Ham, Wilshere said he believed he could still play at the top level of English football, and “I know a lot of the players and staff here and I’m pleased they allowed me to train initially, and then it just went from there.”

AFC Bournemouth are in the middle of a promotion battle. With 49 points in 32 games, the Cherries are looking for a change in fortunes. Therefore, the signing of Jack Wilshere could prove to be the missing puzzle in their conquest for a quick return to the top flight.
