The 23-year-old scored his first goal for the club this past weekend against Real Betis on his maiden start after a bright cameo in his debut against CA Osasuna. Some of his combination and link-up play with Alejandro Balde and Robert Lewandowski was enticing.

Doubts About the Youngster

It is no secret that Barcelona’s technical staff did not unanimously approve of Joao Felix signing. Even though he has subsequently disputed these rumors, manager Xavi Hernandez was said to have had some reservations about his purchase on many occasions.

Now, Adrian Sanchez is saying that certain staff members did have reservations about Joao Felix and how he would fit into Barcelona’s overall plan.

But after watching the 23-year-old Portuguese international in a few training sessions, all of those uncertainties were dispelled. The skeptics now think he can be a crucial component of this squad.
After scoring for Portugal over the international break, Joao Felix has had a strong start to life at Barça. Netting his first goal for the club last weekend against Betis.

Emphasize that Barcelona lacks a buy option for the 23-year-old; however, if he performs well this season, Atletico Madrid will initiate discussions about a permanent move.
