About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Joe Zoherliana is clear to join Northeast United FC as Bengaluru FC terminated his contract. The blues officially announced that the club and the player mutually agreed to terminate the contract. Even though Joe Zoherliana has remaining one year in Bengaluru FC he decides to move to Northeast United FC to have more game time.

Joe Zoherliana started his professional career with Shillong Lajong FC when he was 17-year-old. He then played for Chanmari FC and Pune city. He then moved to I-League side Aizawl FC. And played 17 games in two seasons and even scored a goal.

The 22-year-old right back was signed by Bengaluru FC last year and he didn’t get any playtime in the whole season. Rumors around that he is frustrated about his lack of game time in ISL last season.

Northeast United FC showing interest in him because they look to build a strong Indian Line-up. But this move seems to be 50-50 has the budding right back has a year remaining in his contract. And if the Highlanders want him they might pay a transfer fee to complete the deal.

But the Blues announced on their offical Twitter Page that Joe Zoherliana’s Contract has been terminated in mutual consent. Which makes him available as a free agent. And soon Northeast United FC might announce their new signing in coming weeks.

Additionally Joe Zoherliana had several other offers but he prefers to play for the Highlanders. And he might be the ideal replacement for Ashutosh Mehta who recently departed from the club.
