Jorge Pereyra Diaz to strike for Kerala Blasters

Jorge Pereyra Diaz to sign for Kerala Blasters for a one-year deal. The Argentine lands in Kerala after proving himself in the top leagues of five countries. Furthermore, he has played in the top leagues of Argentina and Mexico.

According to close sources Jorge will be released. Hence the chances of him signing for the Kerala side have increased substantially. The move of Jorge will be the third foreign signing including Adrian Luna and Enes Sipovic. The Kerala side have started their preseason from 30th July with initial 29 squad members.

Jorge started his football career with the Argentine club Ferro Caril Oeste competing in the Primera B Nacional the second division football tier in Argentina. After four years Club Atletico Lanus was his team. Hence tasting what top-flight football is like. Furthermore, he won the Copa Sudamericana with Lanus in his first spell.

Jorge’s next destination was Malaysia where he signed for Johor Darul Ta’zim a top division club. where he spent a total of four seasons, where he was successful even netting 30 goals in the 2016 season and a total of 50 goals for the club. He even played for Independiente in 2015 and the Mexican club Leon in 2017 on loan.

The 31-year old enjoyed a trophy-laden time at Johor winning two Malayasia Super League titles.Afterwards, he returned to Lanus in 2018 and since played for Bolivar a top-flight Bolivian club. Following it he spent a season with the Chilean side San Marcos and returned to play for Argentinian side Platense.

He joined Platense in February 2021 and his contract ends this December but he has now secured a release to sign for Kerala Blasters in ISL.
