Juventus keen on Chelsea Duo for the Upcoming Transfer Window

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Juventus have quite a few above 30-years-old players who are at the twilight of their career. And now they have decided to rebuild their squad with new faces. Hence, they have turned their eyes to Chelsea’s Emerson and Jorginho.

The Bianconeri chose to appoint an inexperienced club legend Andrea Pirlo and rebuild under his guidance. And now Pirlo wants the Chelsea duo of Jorginho and Emerson Palmieri in his squad in the summer transfer window.

Emerson hasn’t been involved in the Chelsea first team under new manager Thomas Tuchel. However, the 26-year-old left-back scored a late goal after coming off the bench midweek against Atletico Madrid,

However, Jorginho’s situation at Chelsea is much better. The former Napoli man is one of the first names on the teamsheet for Tuchel and has played plenty of games in midfield.

Emerson was bought by former Blues manager Antonio Conte from Roma for €20 million in January 2018. Jorginho came to Chelsea with another former boss Maurizio Sarri in the summer of 2018 for €65 million.

Juventus want Emerson and Jorginho

Pirlo’s side has a real issue in the left-back position. Alex Sandro has only managed to start ten Serie A games this season due to injuries. And their back-up left-back 21-years-old Gianluca Frabotta isn’t experienced enough to play at the highest level yet.

In midfield, Juve lack the fluidity and quick passing from the deep. Arthur hasn’t been able to do the role properly, which helps the opposition to get back in shape. Jorginho will be a good addition to the squad for quick passes from deep.

Both Emerson and Jorginho have one and two years in their Chelsea contract respectively. However, reports claims that the Old Lady are hoping to use their ‘excellent relationship’ with Blues director Marina Granovskaia to bring the pair to Turin in the coming months.

It was told that Aaron Ramsey could be on his way out of Turin and Jorginho could be a good replacement. Signing the Chelsea duo will be a great bit of business for the Serie A giants.
