The Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters FC have appointed ex Assistant manager of Waasland-Beveren Patric Van Kets as their new Assistant manager for the upcoming season. The contract between the club and the Belgian manager is to be signed in the coming days.

Patric has over seven years of experience in managing teams. During this period he has 4+ years of expertise as an assistant manager. Recently he managed Belgian-based football club Waasland-Beveren that plays in Jupiler Pro League for one season.

The 54 years old Belgian striker started his senior footballing career back in 1988 he played 381 matches before he retired in the year 2002. He started his managerial career in 2014 where he first managed the Standard Liège U21 team.

However, sources say Ivan Vukomanović could be the next head coach of the club. In that case, the new assistant manager of Kerala Blasters Patric will assist him during the coming ISL campaign.

The Yellow Army‘s last season did not go as expected with their former head coach Kibu Vicuña. They hardly managed to win three matches from 20 fixtures. By the end of the season, KBFC had only 17 points, 5 points above the bottom-placed Odisha FC.

Kerala Blasters have one of the largest fan bases amongst the other Indian clubs and disappointing fans is one of the major setbacks for the club. With newly appointed managers, the club would expect to get things back on track.
