Kessie, Barcelona midfielder, believes his performance was ‘upsetting’

Barcelona’s recent 4-0 defeat to Real Madrid was obviously upsetting among both players and fans. However, some of them are more unhappy than others, like Franck Kessie.

Kessie feels he could have avoided conceding the penalty

According to Diario SPORT, the former AC Milan player was depressed following the setback. He believes he might have done a lot better to prevent giving up the penalty. His error allowed Real Madrid to extend their lead to three goals.
Kessie had been one of Barça’s top players up until that point. In the absence of Pedri and Frenkie de Jong, the Ivorian performed admirably. Kessie commanding the engine room and providing muscle and aggression in the middle of the park.

However, Kessie believes he should have avoided the costly error. While Barcelona was already down 2-0, there was still hope for a comeback after the club had taken a small 1-0 lead in the first leg.
That means that a goal would have been enough to send the game into overtime. However, after the third goal, Barcelona had little chance of a comeback.
Xavi, who spent hours analysing the game, has sent Kessie an encouraging response. Barca boss highlighted his performance since the turn of the year.

Kessie is now completely focused on finishing the season strong and assisting Barcelona in capturing the league title. However, he may soon have competition in midfield, with both de Jong and Pedri expected to return against Getafe later this month.
Nonetheless, the Ivorian wants to stay in Barcelona and will not be departing anytime soon.
