Kubo set to return at Mallorca on a loan deal

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

According to several reports, Takefusa Kubo has been a prime interest for RCD Mallorca this summer. Currently, the youngster is on a holiday as his season ended a few days back after he played his last match at the Olympics.

The Japanese samurai is having a tough couple of seasons since making his move to Europe from his home club FC Tokyo. Kubo signed for Real Madrid back in 2019 hoping for a great start at the biggest club. However, his dream of having a first-team start for Madrid is yet to happen. Since his joining Kubo has been loaned to three different La Liga clubs.

In 2019, Kubo was loaned out to Mallorca where he enjoyed 36 appearances while scoring 4 goals for the side. As he returned from a season-long loan Sevilla, Ajax, and Osasuna were in line for his signature. However, it was Villareal who swopped him from Madrid on loan. But his loan deal was cut short as he was deprived of more game time. And he spent the rest half of the season at Getafe on loan.

Real Madrid have no plan in keeping him this season as they want to trim down the squad due to financial issues. Following which he has been made available for another loan deal. As per reports, RCD Mallorca and Real Sociedad are currently in line for Kubo, and Mallorca are the favourites to sign him. Although Madrid wants a Sociedad deal as he will get to experience some time in Europa League.

However, Mallorca is the likely destination for Kubo as both the parties want the deal to go through. So, we may see the Japanese samurai returning back at Mallorca for the next season.
