This winter, Liverpool has done their utmost to obtain the signature of Duje Caleta-Car from Olympique de Marseille.
The two teams were able to find an agreement. But just a few hours before the end of the winter transfer window, Sporting Director Pablo Longoria firmly opposed the leaving of Duje Caleta-Car. He explained his decision by stating the difficulty of finding a player at an equivalent level.
Jurgen Klopp is still looking to recruit Duje Caleta-Car to strengthen Liverpool‘ defense. Klopp wants the Croation to strengthen the weak Liverpool defence.

Olympique De Marseille will not oppose a second time the leaving of Caleta-car. The Croatian player was recruited three years ago for €19 million from Salzburg. Therefore, the world of football has its eyes on Pablo Longoria while waiting to discover his financial demands.
On the other hand, it’s quite clear that Liverpool need a new center-back. Caleta-Car would be the perfect partner for Virgil van Dijk at the back. The Reds’ interest in Duje Caleta-Car makes sense as the Croatian is a talented young defender, who could become a solid player for Liverpool.
