Liverpool are desperate to sign Tchouameni this summer window

According to recent reports, Liverpool are considering a renewed pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid. This comes after the Spanish giants beat Liverpool to sign the player last summer.

Liverpool are still keen on signing Aurelien Tchouameni, whom they missed out on last summer, from Real Madrid. Even if it means only being able to secure a loan deal, the Reds want to bring the talented youngster to Anfield for the upcoming season.

Last season, Liverpool wanted to sign Tchouameni, who was playing for Monaco at the time. However, Real Madrid managed to sign the midfielder for a transfer fee of €100m (£85m).

Why are Liverpool so desperate in bagging Tchouameni?

The upcoming departures of James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain sparked numerous transfer rumors for Liverpool.

If Liverpool managed to sign Tchouameni last year, things could have been very different. However, they were hesitant to make a move for another midfielder in the latter stages of the summer transfer window. But instead opted to sign Arthur on loan from Juventus. This move didn’t work out well for the club.

In the 44 matches he played for the Spanish giants across all competitions, the 23-year-old has provided four assists, but he has not yet scored a goal for the team.

Bringing in Tchouameni on loan could be the missing piece in Liverpool’s midfield puzzle, helping them to rediscover their former form. Notably, a loan deal for the Frenchman could allow Liverpool to strengthen their squad while still having room to invest in other targets. This could be the ideal formula for the team to return to winning ways and achieve further success.
