Liverpool eyeing a move for Renato Sanches

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Liverpool are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing LOSC Lille midfielder Renato Sanches in this summer transfer window as per the recent reports.

The 23-years-old joined Les Dogues back in 2019 from Bayern Munich. The Ligue1 side had to invest around €20 million for the midfielder and the investment has paid off brilliantly for the French club. The Portuguese International has helped the club in achieving the Ligue 1 title last term after leaving PSG behind in the race.

The Portuguese has found his feet yet again in French football after struggling to showcase his talent in the Bundesliga. Following a productive season with the reigning Ligue 1 champions, the midfielder was called up to the national squad for the Euro 2020.

Should the Portuguese leave the club this summer that would be a big blow for Lille. After losing manager Christophe Galtier to OGC Nice and Boubacary Soumare at Leicester City, the winning team has already started to break apart. Now, losing another first-team player would make it extremely tough for new manager Jocelyn Gourvennec to achieve success next season.

Liverpool want Sanches this summer:

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast Fabrizio Romano stated that Liverpool are big admirers of Lille midfielder Renato Sanches. The Reds are currently focusing on offloading a few players and then they could make a move for the Portugal international.

Romano further claims that the defending Ligue 1 champions will sell their star man this summer if Liverpool meets their €40 million valuations for the midfielder. The 23-years-old is an option for the Premier League club and Jurgen Klopp wants reinforcements in midfield.

Sanches will be a perfect addition to Liverpool midfield this summer. The midfielder’s ability with the ball and stamina to run the midfield is one of his best attributes. Following the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum, the Portuguese International will be an apt replacement for the Netherlands international.

However, it will certainly make Lille extremely weak for this season. Having won the title last season with promising young players, it is always tough for the French club to keep hold of their star players. But, selling quite a few numbers of players will make them very fragile.
