According to a report by La Colina de Nervion, Manchester United are still keeping tabs on Sevilla defender Jules Kounde. United have already resolved their attacking issues by spending almost €70 million on Jadon Sancho. But the problem regarding the backline is still seen as a priority by the Red Devils.

Manchester United sees Jules Kounde as a second option if they fail to secure Raphael Varane from Real Madrid. United have been closely linked with the Madrid defender this summer, as Varane wants a new challenge next season. As per several reports, it also revealed that United have tabled an offer of €43 million to Real Madrid for Varane.

But the deal got rejected as Madrid doesn’t want to sell the center-back at such a low price. Following this situation, it seems United have rebooted their interest in signing Jules Kounde. However, it may be harder to sign Kounde compare to Varane due to his high Value.

Sevilla’s president has clearly stated his views about wanting at least €70 million for the youngster to leave this summer. While United seems to have only a budget of €50 million for signing a center-back. Furthermore, the Red Devils will be facing tough competition from their rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur for signing Kounde.

Kounde’s future club could be Manchester United, Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur

Kounde is a hot target this summer following his performance for Sevilla in the last two seasons. He arrived at Spain for a price of €25 million and would be leaving with a price tag of €70-80 million. Several clubs have been interested to sign the center-back this summer but currently, only three clubs are fighting for Kounde.

First, Manchester United, the red devils are keen on signing a center-back this summer due to their poor backline last season. Following this issue, they had listed Pau Torres, Jules Kounde, and Raphael Varane for signing. United are currently very close to signing Varane, but the problem regarding his price arises every time. But they have not forgotten about Varane’s national teammate Jules Kounde, as they are keeping tabs on the youngster’s situation.

Second, Chelsea, the Champions League winners are in the market to strengthen their backline for winning the Premier League title next season. The Blues have a great set of defenders in the squad with the names like Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Antonio Rudiger. But there are looking for a youngster who can replace the aging backline. And they have found that replacement in Jules Kounde.

Lastly, Tottenham Hotspur, the north London club are the latest to join the race for Jules Kounde. After solving the long-term issue of appointing a manager, they are currently looking for a center-back. Tottenham suffered a huge collapse at the backline in the second half of the season, due to which they finished 7th in Premier League. And to not repeat the same they have targeted Sevilla youngster Jules Kounde this summer for their backline options.

So, let’s wait and see who among these three clubs will finish the race for searching a center-back by lifting the trophy named Jules Kounde.
