Manchester United are the new favourites for the English striker Ivan Toney

Manchester United are eyeing on the Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

Man United, along with other clubs, will be scouring the transfer market for players that can improve their squad, after the season ends. Even though the Red Devils began to get it together in the last few games, the goals return from their attackers is still poor.

According to WhoScored, Marcus Rashford only has five goals in all competitions. Alejandro Garnacho has seven, Rasmus Hojlund has 10, Anthony Martial has only managed two. Meanwhile, Antony only has his FA Cup goal against Newport County to celebrate.

Twenty-five goals between five players isn’t exactly the type of return Erik ten Hag will want, nor is it anywhere close to being good enough for the Red Devils.

Ivan Toney leaving Brentford this summer

Although, it can’t be a surprise that there is reported interest in Brentford’s Ivan Toney. Particularly after his manager, Thomas Frank, virtually admits that his front man would be sold this summer, according to SkySportsNews.

However, a substantial fee should require to snatch him from the West Londoners, that seemingly isn’t beyond Sir Jim Ratcliffe. With TeamTalk suggesting, Manchester United have moved ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to land Ivan Toney.

This notes that Chelsea will go after Victor Osimhen. Whilst Arsenal may not be in the best place to agree a deal approaching £80m.
