Manchester United Will Struggle to Sign Haaland Due to Raiola?

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Manchester United and Chelsea are ready to sign Haaland in the upcoming transfer window.

Erling Haaland has been in red hot form since he joined Borussia Dortmund. In 31 appearances he has bagged 33 goals and has notched 5 assists across all competitions.

The 20-year-old Norwegian striker has caught the attention of many clubs. However, leading the race are Manchester United and Chelsea, who are desperate to get their hands on the player.

MANCHESTER UNITED AND HAALAND’ AGENT

Manchester United will face a hurdle when it comes to signing Haaland. And that hurdle is his agent Mino Raiola.

Raiola had a public fallout recently with the club. When he had made a controversial statement that Pogba is unhappy and he is set on leaving. This statement made by him caused outrage on social media which left Paul Pogba and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fuming.

Manchester United are on the hunt to sign a number 9 who will replace an ageing Cavani. He has two years left on his contract. Therefore, they will have to target other attackers like CalvertLewin and Dembele as a transfer for Haaland could fall over due to Raiola’s poor relationship with the club.

This gives Chelsea a big advantage as they would be forerunners to grab Haaland‘ signature. And they would be eager to land the Norwegian as he could prove out to be a goal-scoring threat for Chelsea. He would also be a massive upgrade over a blanking Timo Werner.

Therefore they will look to open talks with Borussia Dortmund as early as possible regarding Haaland’s acquisition. And they will make sure that they get this deal done as soon as possible.
