After the international break, Manuel Neuer is anticipated to return.
According to Bild, Bayern Munich has a strategy in place that will allow Manuel Neuer to return to the starting lineup following the international break. As the majority of the senior team are either injured or abroad on international duty for the next two weeks, Neuer is anticipated to practise mostly with the under-23s as well as additional custodian training.
The custodian was also anticipated to participate in both of Bayern Munich II’s post-international break matches against Aschaffenburg and Buchbach to acquire competitive experience. Neuer has just recently recovered from a calf injury, so Bayern do not want to hurry his comeback. It is unclear, however, if he will play against Mainz or Galatasaray.
With Neuer’s return, a 10-month drama that saw Bayern purchase a new goalkeeper in Yann Sommer and be connected to a number of other goalkeepers in the summer would come to a conclusion. When the season started, Sven Ulreich remained the team’s starting goalkeeper. When Neuer makes a comeback, it will be crucial to see if he can resume his previous level of performance. He occasionally shown his talent, but there were also warning indications of deterioration during the World Cup the previous winter.
