Norway’s Captain and Arsenal star Martin Odegaard has his say on Erling Haaland becoming the new number 9 for his National side. Meanwhile, the striker started wearing the number 9 for his club Dortmund after the departure of Paco Alcacer. He will start wearing the same for his National team from this upcoming friendlies. Norway will play Slovakia and Armenia for the upcoming friendlies.
The number will be handed over by Real Sociedad forward Alexander Sorloth. He is currently on loan with the club from his parent club Leipzig. According to Odegaard, the move from the number nine to his country is not as bad as some have portrayed.

Odegaard said in a press conference, as reported by Norwegian broadcaster TV2:
“I have not realized that it has been a big deal,”.
Erling has the nine and that’s it, really. I do not think it has been a problem for anyone.”
Sorloth who will now wear the number 19 for Norway has scored 12 goals in 25 appearances for the national side. On the other hand, Haaland has scored the same amount of goals but has achieved the feat in just 15 games. In the current squad, they both are bettered only by Watford striker Joshua King who has netted 17 goals in his 57 games.

The National team manager Stale Solbakken has responded to the rumors surrounding Halland’s club future. In his recent press conference, he said:
“Every word and every sentence he says would be twisted, and the translation would certainly be a bit speculative.
I don’t want to pretend that it’s not a problem – because it is.”
Haaland is currently one of the hottest properties in world football and is wanted by many clubs across Europe. Dortmund’s 21-year old striker has scored 16 goals in 17 appearances in Bundesliga. In addition, he is also regarded as one of the best young prospects and is very close to Martin Odegaard.
The playmaker has undoubtedly been in sensational form for Arsenal this season following his £30m moves from Real Madrid. Above all, a recent picture of him with Haaland has fans excited. Having been photographed together on international duty with Norway, supporters speculated that Odegaard is working on signing Haaland for Arsenal.
In addition, La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are seeking to sign the forward. Pep’s Manchester City is also keen to sign the star. Furthermore, his father, Alf-Inge, has played for Manchester City, which will undoubtedly influence his decision.
