Kylian Mbappe performing as France captain during their match against Ireland was less impressive than his first appearance in the role. The Paris Saint-Germain forward struggled to make an impact on the game. However, France were able to secure a victory thanks to a last-minute save from goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Kylian Mbappe gave a halftime speech during France’s win over The Netherlands on Friday. Now some players were asking about his remarks after the game in Dublin. The team captain spoke at the end of the match. His comments were reported from RM Midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni stated that Mbappe was “proud” of the team’s performance. The rest of the dressing room shared his sentiment.

What did Tchouameni say about Mbappe?

Midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni spoke about Kylian Mbappe’s remarks after the match against Ireland. He said that the PSG forward was “proud” of the team’s performance. Also the rest of the dressing room felt the same.

“Especially after a win like today’s, it’s not easy to come and win here.”

Ibrahima Konaté, the defender, mentioned that Mbappe was not the sole speaker during the team’s full-time discussion.

“Everyone has some leadership in them in this team, and that’s what’s good.”

The French national team will reunite in June to play their next two games in the Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. They will travel to Gibraltar for the first game and then host Greece at the Stade de France for the second game.
