Messi returning to Barcelona is a possiblilty or will he stay at Paris?

PSG

Lionel Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year contract with an option for a third year in August 2021. He left Barcelona as a free agent. His current contract with PSG will expire in June 2023.

FC Barcelona is reportedly making efforts to become financially stable so that they can submit an offer to Lionel Messi. This must be approved by La Liga. However, according to Gastón Edul of TyC Sports, it is still unclear when the Spanish club will receive a response from the league regarding their proposal.

Edul said regarding Messi and Barcelona: “Barcelona has to have the approval of La Liga. It hasn’t happened yet but Barcelona has it as an absolute priority and is moving. That will be the turning point (for better or worse) that must be expected in these weeks.”

What did a French report say about Messi and his rumors?

According to a report from France, Messi has been prioritizing staying with Paris Saint-Germain over a return to Barcelona. Despite the Catalan club’s efforts to bring him back.

It remains to see what Messi’s ultimate decision will be. But PSG’s financial stability and competitive squad could make them an attractive option for the 35-year-old forward.

It is possible that Barcelona could be a backup option if talks between Messi and PSG about a contract extension do not result in an agreement.

Barcelona is under pressure to secure Messi’s return this summer. As failing to do so would disappoint their supporters who are already hoping for the legendary player’s comeback.
