Milan set to sign Chelsea’s forgotten man Bakayoko

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AC Milan are reportedly closing in on a deal for Chelsea midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko, as per the report in Italian outlet Calciomercato

The 27-year-old joined the Blues back in 2017 from AS Monaco for around €40 million. However, the deal didn’t go according to the plan and was sent out on loan several times since. The midfielder made only 44 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League giants, scoring three goals during this time.

According to Calciomercato, Bakayoko is set to join Milan in a second loan spell from Chelsea. The Blues have extended the player’s contract until June 2023 and are ready to accept a loan deal for the Frenchman.

The Rossoneri have offered a €1.5million loan fee with an option to buy in a season time for €7/8 million. The Serie A giants are growing confident that a deal can be agreed upon with the Blues within Monday.

Milan close from Signing Bakayoko:

Bakayoko had a productive loan stint in his first innings at Milan. The Frenchman had a great time under Gennaro Gattuso at San Siro. After joining Napoli the Italian manager also brought the midfielder to Diego Armando Maradona stadium.

The 27-year-old will be a very good addition to Stefano Pioli’s midfield. With Bakayoko, Franck Kessie, Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer in the squad, the Rossoneri are looking strong in the midfield of the park.

Last term Kassie had to play almost every game of the season, following the injuries to others. However, Bakayoko can provide another option for Stefano Pioli to choose from in this season. After qualifying for the Champions League, the Rossoneri boss needed proper strength in depth to manage good performances in every competition.

Following the departure of Hakan Calhanoglu, the Rossoneri needed an attacking midfielder. With only Brahim Diaz in the squad, it will be hard for the Spaniard to produce top-class performances every week at a young age.
