Nagelsmann tight-lipped about Rudiger

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann evaded questions about rumours around Antonio Rudiger. Meanwhile, reports suggest that the Chelsea defender could be on the move come next summer.

Nagelsmann was quick to answer the question revolving around Rudiger and did add a bit of humour into his response. The questions were asked during the Bundesliga pre-match press conference. Bayern is taking on newcomers SpVgg Greuther Furth in the league this weekend.

Rudiger recently has been in the news, with rumours suggesting that he might be looking for a move. However, the player has not renewed his contract with Chelsea and could leave on a free next summer. Bayern themself are going through contract issues, as defender Niklas Sule has not signed a new deal. Nagelsmann could have to turn to a new signing if Sule leaves Bayern next summer.

RUDIGER TO JOIN NAGELSMANN AT BAYERN

“I don’t like talking about players who are under contract with another club. Thomas (Tuchel) has handled him extremely well since he has been on the sidelines at Chelsea,”- said Nagelsmann.

Nagelsmann also commented that he has not talked to the club sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic about Rudiger. In a lighter note, the former RB Leipzig manager added that the club do not have anything in the wallet now and will only buy if there is money around.

There is still no progress in the Rudiger contract situation and Chelsea is desperately trying to make the player sign a new deal. However, if the player does decide to run out of his contract, there are many clubs waiting for his signature. Alongside Bayern, the other clubs interested are Real Madrid and PSG and Chelsea should act fast if they want to keep hold of the German.
