As Sergej Milinkovic-Savic nears the end of his Lazio career, a Premier League club could sign him ahead of Juventus. The Bianconeri have been eyeing Milinkovic-Savic for quite some time in order to improve the midfield options in their squad.
Although Lazio have repeatedly denied a move for the 27-year-old, he now doesn’t seem eager to extend his contract. Juventus can now make a move for him because Lazio has no choice but to sell him. However, a problem for Juventus could arise when Lazio wants to sell him to the club that pays them the most.
Clubs interested in Milinkovic-Savic
Tuttojuve reports Newcastle United also wants him as they are ready to pay 60 million euros for him. He will also receive up to 10 million euros in wages per season, which Juventus will not be able to match. A complete and versatile midfielder Milinkovic-Savic who this season has already 5 goals and 7 assists this season. With Newcastle’s outstanding form this season, Milinkovic-Savic could register for the club this year.
Meanwhile, Arsenal is also eyeing a move for the Serbian international. Adding Savic into the squad would upgrade the English squad significantly. Leaving Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey as starters, the others are not sufficient enough for the English top flight. However, the Serbian footballer will bring stability to the midfield for Arteta’s side.
The Serbian will seek the best price if he’s leaving Lazio, so Juve must be prepared to spend big to add him to their team.
It is likely that Juventus will have to look elsewhere for midfielders if they lack the funds to match the other bidders.
