Following the removal of Kiko Ramirez, ISL outfit Odisha FC have chosen to appoint Kino Garcia Sanchez as interim coach. Earlier he served as the club’s assistant coach and will now succeed the Spaniard.

The management chose to part ways with Ramirez after a series of poor showings. He was given his walking papers on Friday after their 0-2 loss to Kerala Blasters FC.

After much cogitation and reflection, the board decided to terminate Ramirez’s contract with them. It was a replacement the club needed to bring up performances and morale.

Odisha FC stand at 9th in the table with 13 points from 10 matches. They have registered only 2 wins in their previous 7 games. However, their tie against NorthEast United FC will be led by Sanchez. They trail the top 4 by 4 points so they might still have a fighting.

A media release from Odisha FC reads – “Odisha FC would like to confirm the appointment of Kino Garcia as the interim Head Coach.
