Player Profile: – Connor Shields, the beast striker from Motherwell FC

Chennaiyin FC have signed their second foreign player, Scottish centre-forward Connor Shields ahead of the 2023-24 season Indian Super League (ISL) season. The player joins the Marina Machans from Scottish club Motherwell FC. Shields has worked with coach of Chennaiyin FC, Owen Coyle at Queen’s Park FC in the 2022/23 season. He has vast experience from the Scottish and English leagues.

Connor Shields: Player Profile

Shields started his career at Albion Rovers during the 2015-16 season. In January 2018, Shields earned a move to England, signing for Sunderland. After playing for Aldershot town on a one-year deal, he signed for the Queen of the South in August 2020.

In the summer of 2021, Shields signed a three-year deal with Scottish Premiership club Motherwell FC. On 31 January 2023, Shields joined Queen’s Park F.C. on loan until the end of the season. Under the guidance of the then coach of the club Owen Coyle, Connor found the net 5 times in 16 appearances. He has a career best of 35 goals in 202 appearances before coming to India.

said Connor Shields on joining the club.

Currently, the team is playing in Group F alongside Delhi FC, Hyderabad FC and Tribhuwan Army in the Durand Cup.
