The much-anticipated Hero Super Cup will resume on April 8, 2023, following a four-year hiatus. The All India Football Federation has finalised the groups and dates for the next competition, which will be held in Kerala (AIFF). The champion of the 2022-23 Hero I-League, RoundGlass Punjab FC, and all 11 clubs from the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) will get direct entry into the Hero Super Cup’s group round.
In the real tournament, the top 16 clubs from India’s top two leagues will play. Moreover, the I-League champions and all 11 ISL teams will automatically go to the group stage in 2022-23. The clubs who finished second through tenth in the 2022-23 I-League will compete for the four remaining slots in the qualification round, which will consist of single-leg ties. However, the 16 teams will be divided into four groups and compete in a single round-robin style. Moreover, the winner of each group will progress to the semi-finals.
