Possible La Liga move for Lautaro Martinez?

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

A bid from La Liga giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid for Inter’s Lautaro Martinez has been rejected. Inter and Martinez are yet to decide the forward’s future as rumours continue to fly.

Nerazzurri have assured new coach Simone Inzaghi that they will not sell the striker unless a sizeable offer comes in.

A report by Tuttosport claims that Real and Atletico have each tabled offers of €40,000,000. Inter, however, have rejected both offers from the La Liga for Martinez. They would only consider approaches above €80,000,000.

Martinez has been scintillating for Inter. He has amassed 17 goals with 10 assists in 38 appearances. Inter were breath-taking in 2020/21 season, going on to win their first Serie A title since 2010.

The striker was also part of a Copa America-winning Argentina squad, scoring 3 times.

A big bid from one of the La Liga clubs could work favorably for Martinez. This would hopefully trigger Inter in offering a new contract to their talisman.

The Argentine striker would like to stay with the Nerazzurri but he will move away if necessary. Barcelona are no longer in the race because of their difficult financial situation. Nevertheless, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are very interested.

Tuttosport reports that the 23-year-old is hopeful of receiving a larger salary than what he is currently on.

Achraf Hakimi has moved to Paris Saint-Germain for a hefty fee already this summer. The prevailing thought at the Inter camp is that they do not intend to sell any more important squad members.
