Raphinha to be sold by Barcelona for bringing back Lionel Messi

Rumor

In a bid to finance Lionel Messi’s return, Barcelona are preparing to sell one of their wingers to Arsenal. That is none other than Raphinha. Recently, it was revealed that Barcelona has intensified its efforts to bring back Lionel Messi this summer. As per reports, the club is currently in talks with La Liga regarding more flexibility in their Financial Fair Play regulations. It is worth noting that Barcelona was charged by the league for exceeding their FFP limit with three players during the 2021-22 season.

Despite this, there are reports that Barcelona receives hope with the lack of progress in Lionel Messi’s contract discussions with PSG. As a result, the club will try to make an effort to bring back the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Barcelona already made their mind on selling Raphinha?

Barcelona will do everthying in order to make way for the return of the Argentine. But they will most likely have to offload some of their players. Raphinha is one of the players on the list of offloading to make way for Lionel Messi’s return.

Reports are there about Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United showing interest in Raphinha. They are keeping tabs on him in the lead up to the summer transfer window.

Barcelona’s board is reportedly willing to sell Raphinha if they receive a substantial offer for the player. The 26-year-old came to the La Liga club from Leeds United for £55 million last summer. Although he failed to make an instant impact, Raphinha has been performing impressively for Barcelona in recent times.

The Brazilian international has been enjoying nine goals and 10 assists in 42 appearances for Barcelona in the ongoing season. However, only time will tell of his future destination.
