Real Madrid are forerunners to sign Bayern’s Munich’s left-back David Alaba. Ahead of both Manchester United and Chelsea.
The 28-year-old Austrian left-back has played a pivotal role for Bayern Munich. Throughout the time, in 404 appearances, he has scored 32 goals and has notched 18 assists.
Despite being an important player for Bayern, Alaba looks set to leave. There has been no talks between the player and the club regarding his contract. And with only 6 months left on his contract, it seems that he might be lured away in the upcoming transfer window.
Alaba has made 18 appearances this season across all competitions. However, he has come down the ranks as he is no more a favourite to start. He has been replaced by Alphonso Davies who has taken the world by storm through his recent scintillating performances.
Therefore Alaba will look set to depart as there wouldn’t be any place for him in the future at Bayern.
REAL MADRID LEADING THE RACE FOR ALABA:
United have ruled out a move for Alaba as they don’t want to make major signings due to financial restraints.
Therefore it makes Real Madrid favourites to land the star as Chelsea wouldn’t be his preferred destination.
Alaba has been on Madrid’ radar for a long time. However, now they are desperate to land the player. As they want to bring in additional defensive reinforcements.
Madrid who were sceptical about the transfer amount to be paid wouldn’t be hesitant now. As Alaba is a free agent in the Summer. Therefore they will look set to open talks with Bayern over Alaba’s signing as soon as possible.
