Real Madrid contemplate move for Boateng

Spanish Media report that Real Madrid have set their sights on Jermone Boateng. The veteran is now a free agent and is drawing major interest. Madrid were successful in securing Alaba and could now go for another Bayern Munich player.

The 32-year-old center-back ended his spell with the German giants when there were no talks of a possible contract renewal. Boateng made over 300 appearances at the Allianz, winning a number of titles.

Despite signs of aging, the German is still a top quality player. He possesses vast experience playing at the top-most level. Being weakened in defense at the moment, Boateng could be the answer for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid now have a mountain to climb.

Sergio Ramos departed, after 16 seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, on a free transfer to PSG. A recent deal completed sees Raphael Varane move to English side Manchester United.

New boss Carlo Ancelotti now has Eder Militao, Nacho and new arrival David Alaba to choose from as options in the heart of defence. This makes it very essential to recruit another center-half.

To add to their problems, Real Madrid are in an unstable financial position. They still require to reinforce certain areas of the squad. Such circumstances have compelled them to consider free agents as an option too. Los Blancos have David Luiz and Nikola Maksimovic, among others, on their radar.

Besides Madrid, local rivals Sevilla are also showing interest in Boateng. Los Nervionenses eye the German international as a potential replacement for Jules Kounde.
