Real Madrid to opt for other option should their Mbappe pursuit fail

Real Madrid has set their sights on Kylian Mbappé as the Frenchman nears free agency. The 24-year-old is currently in the 2023-24 season. Now his contract is to expire as he chose not to exercise the option to extend it until 2025.

Nonetheless, it’s possible that Real Madrid has a contingency plan in place. Last year, they made a significant effort to secure the services of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. But he ultimately chose to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Additionally, this summer, PSG made the decision to offload the winger after he found himself training with less desirable players.

However, Mbappé and PSG managed to reconcile. Since, he remains in the French capital even after the departures of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. Nonetheless, given the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Mbappé-Real Madrid situation, it’s conceivable that the La Liga side has a contingency plan in place.

Real Madrid to go for Youssoufa Moukoko?

Real Madrid is likely keen on avoiding a repeat of past situation. According to Defensa Central’s report (as cited by Football Transfers), Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko is being considered as a potential Plan B. That is in case the pursuit of Mbappé doesn’t unfold as anticipated.

The 18-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko could potentially address Real Madrid requirement for a striker. However, there remains a question of whether he will be ready for the immense spotlight of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium at such a young age. It’s worth noting that Jude Bellingham has seamlessly adapted, but he is widely famous as a special talent.

It will certainly be intriguing to observe the chain of events that unfold once Mbappé makes his decision regarding his future.
