Sarpreet Singh hopeful of Bayern future

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Bayern Munich player Sarpreet Singh is hopeful that he can one day make it into the senior team. The New Zealand international however will not be playing for Bayern this season.

This is after the club has let him go on a loan to Bundesliga 2 side Jahn Regensburg. Sarpreet will join the second tier outfit on a one-year deal. This will be his second loan move after joining Bayern.

Sarpreet has not been able to break into the Bayern Munich squad, which is filled with some amazing talents. The attacking midfielder will see his contract with Bayern end in 2023.

SARPREET STILL CONFIDENT ON BAYERN DREAM

The New Zealand international has found it hard to make his mark with the Bundesliga Champions. Since his move from Wellington Phoenix in 2019, the 22-year-old has only featured twice for Bayern.

He was sent on loan to Bundesliga 2 side FC Nuremberg at the beginning of the 2020/21 season. But Bayern soon ended the loan move in the middle of the season as Sarpreet returned to the Bayern Munich II side.

An attacking midfielder, Sarpreet can play in the wings as well. He will be hoping to make a mark with Jahn Regensburg this season. In a recent interview with Kicker, the 22-year-old admitted that he is still hopeful of playing for the Rekordmeister.

“Never say never. It’s a big goal and a dream. I was close and played two Bundesliga games”– said Sarpreet Singh. This will be an important move for Sarpreet as he only has 2 more years left in his contract with Bayern. Unless he can impress new manager Julian Nagelsmann, there is a big chance that he could be let go in the future.
