FC Goa have handed a new three-year contract extension to their first choice defender Saviour Gama. According to the new contract, the club will keep him until 2024.

His consistent performance in the backline helped FC Goa to secure their 4th consecutive playoffs appearance. Also, he had a huge role in the club’s 15 match unbeaten runs by the end of the season.

“Well, to be honest, this feels like home to me. I have felt at home not only because I am in Goa, but also because the club has helped me become the player I am today and has given me the respect that every player craves. The new contract means that there will be even more responsibilities on my shoulders and that’s something I am looking forward to fulfilling. I am living my dream.– Saviour

FC Goa have received his services since he was a part of the Goa developmental squad in 2017–18. Saviour earned a name in football after his impressive performance for the Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim in the Taca Goa U-20. He made his senior debut in Hero Indian Super League side FC Goa against Chennaiyin FC.

Saviour played an important role in his first ISL finals against Bengaluru FC in the 2018-19 season. Later he helped the development team to secure their first Goa Professional League title in their second appearance in the competition.
