Sehnaj Singh joins Inter Kashi

Inter Kashi have announced the signing of experienced midfielder Sehnaj Singh for the upcoming 2023-24 I-League season. Inter Kashi have entered the upcoming season through corporate entry.

Sehnaj Singh – Player Profile

30-year-old Chandigarh-born Sehnaj Singh played in his youth for the Gurdaspur Football Academy and Chandigarh Football Academy. During the summer of 2011, he signed for Pailan Arrows who were then known as Indian Arrows, to play in the I-League.  Sehnaj was also part of the Mumbai Tigers squad to take part in the 2013 I-League second division. He made his debut for Mumbai in the Federation Cup at the JLNM Stadium, Kochi. In 2014, Sehnaj signed for Mohun Bagan. Sehnaj Singh, a regular starter for the club appeared 18 times and helped his side be crowned the champions. 

In July 2015, Delhi Dynamos roped in Sehnaj Singh for the Indian Super League season 2015-16. He scored his first goal of the ISL against Kerala Blasters to make the score 3–3 from over 30 yards in the final league game of the Dynamos season.  Sehnaj joined Northeast United on a two-year deal. In 2021–22 season he made ten appearances for the club.

Sehnaj started his international career at the under-19 level against Turkmenistan U19′ in 2011 in the AFC U-19 Cup qualifiers. Sehnaj Singh has also made five appearances for the Blue Tigers.

Inter Kashi, based out of Varanasi are the newest entrants to the I-League along with Namdhari FC. However, according to sources the club will play their matches from Lucknow for the upcoming season. The I-League 2023-24 season will have 13 teams participating in the home and away format.
