Sevilla to replace Jules Kounde with Davinson Sanchez?

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Sevilla are considering signing Davinson Sanchez from Tottenham Hotspur. The 24-year-old defender has made just 16 appearances so far in the Premier League under new boss, Jose Mourinho. He hasn’t played ever since the match against London rivals, West Ham United in October last year.

Spurs would be trying to get another defender in place of Sanchez. Additionally, their head coach is also reportedly unhappy with his performance. He has made 99 appearances for the club also scoring once.

However, his contract will only expire in June 30, 2024. Thus, the Lilywhites are looking to cash in some money for further reinforcements.

Davinson Sanchez to pair alongside Kounde at Sevilla?

Davinson Sanchez joined Spurs in 2017 from Dutch giants, Ajax, for €42 million. However, his transfer fee hasn’t really defined his true talent at the English club. The Columbian center-back also is facing a lot of competition alongside Joe Rodon, Eric Dier, and Toby Alderwiereld.

Jose Mourinho isn’t happy with his development and is currently working on signing a better defender. The North London club are going through a difficult season and sit sixth in the league. Also, they bowed out of this season’s Europa League.

However, this might be a great deal for Sevilla. He might get to learn a lot alongside Jules Kounde, one of the talented players in Spain right now. However, it is rumoured that Sanchez might be a replacement for Kounde.

The Andalusians are enjoying a fine run of form and are currently 4th in the La Liga. If Kounde doesn’t depart, it would work great for the Spanish club to play a defensive duo of Sanchez and Kounde.
