Subho Paul makes it to the German giant FC Bayern Munich’s squad

17-year-old Bengali center-forward Subho Paul has made it to German giant Bayern Munich’s World squad. The World squad includes 15 international U19 talents from 15 different nations.

These 15 youngsters will get professional training from Bayern Munich’s experts. And India’s Subho in one amongst the 15.

This campaign is an initiative between Bayern and Volkswagen. With this campaign, Bayern aims to promote young footballers worldwide. Especially from Countries of the weaker regions to encourage cultural exchange.

Bayern’s dream of giving special opportunities and cultural exchange

Jorg Wacker, FC Bayern München’s Board Member for Internationalization and Strategy said. “I am delighted at the opportunity to realize this unique youth development project together with our partner Volkswagen. 15 players from 15 different nations form an exceptional global team. In addition to the sporting development of the young players, this once again underscores Bayern’s core values. Diversity, Tolerance, and cohesion”.

A total of 654 players from 64 nations showed off their skills in more than 1200 short videos. Thereby applying for one of the coveted squad places. The only requirement for participation was the birth year, which should be between 2003 and 2004. The scouting and selection process were done by Bayern’s professional team and former Bayern captain Klaus Augenthaler and International Bayern youth coach Christopher Loch.

Subho made India proud by qualifying for this campaign which was being judged by the elites. This news have also taken Indian football’s Twitter handle go off the walls. Indian football fans have contended over this news.

A look at young Subho’s career so far

Subho made his youth debut for Sudeva Academy by playing for them in the AIFF youth league. In the 2019-20 season, Subho scored 14 goals in 11 matches. As a result of his stunning performance, Subho got promoted to play for the senior team Sudeva Delhi FC for the 2021 season. On 28 February 2021 Subho scored his maiden goal for the club against TRAU. But, unfortunately, the team lost by 3-2. Subho’s most memorable goal would be when he scored the match-deciding goal against the Indian Arrows.

Subho also has the experience of playing for the national team. He is a part of India’s U-17 team, Subho has also played the 2021 AFC Asian U-16 cup qualifier. Where he scored 3 goals in 3 matches. Subho has got a total of 8 goals in 11 games for India’s U-17 side.
