CHENNAI CITY FC

Chennai City FC, commonly known as CCFC, is a professional football club based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The club was founded in 1946 and currently plays in the I-League, the top tier of Indian football.

History

Chennai City FC was founded in 1946. Meanwhile, it was founded as the Chennai Football Association (CFA) XI. In 2016, the club was taken over by the owners of the I-League team Chennai City FC and was renamed Chennai City Football Club. In their first season in the I-League, the club won the title, becoming the first team from Tamil Nadu to win the top division of Indian football.

The club won the I-League once in the 2018-19 season. The club has also won the Durand Cup in 1948 and the CFA Senior Division League several times.
