Thomas Tuchel is reportedly desperate to bring Dayot Upamecano to Chelsea after seeing his consistent performance in the Bundesliga.
Upamecano joined RB Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in 2017. And since then he has made over 98 appearances for Leipzig. In which he has found the back of the net on four occasions.
His defensive ability and talent have made him a hot prospect to sign all over Europe. Teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid have all made inquiries about the star’s availability.
TUCHEL WANTS UPAMECANO AT CHELSEA IN THE SUMMER
According to The Sport Review, Tuchel and Chelsea have expressed their interest in Landing the French star.
Chelsea who sit 6th in the Premier League are looking at making major signings in the summer. As they are also planning a major overhaul.
Tuchel is keen on strengthening their defense by bringing on board Upamencano. They believe Upamecano can resolve their center-Back issues which they are currently facing. They have made a list of defenders who they would want to sign, however, Upamencano tops the list.
The 22-year-old has a release clause which is €42 million. It can be activated after this season so Chelsea can sign him provided they open talks with Leipzig over his acquisition.
However, the blues would face tough competition from Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid who are also ready to sign the player. It will be exciting to see which club grabs the Frenchmen’s signature.
