Toni Kroos applauds Rudiger for not losing calm over Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has commended Antonio Rudiger for not engaging in confrontations with Sergio Ramos. As many others have done in the past.

In the recent 1-1 draw between Real Madrid and Sevilla, Sergio Ramos naturally attracted attention. Hence, he even playfully interacted with Antonio Rudiger. Thus, causing the two to engage in a heated confrontation.

Toni Kroos, speaking on his podcast ‘Einfach mal luppen,’ as reported by Diario AS, suggested that the situation could have escalated into something more entertaining if Antonio Rudiger hadn’t kept his composure by not reacting aggressively to Sergio Ramos’ actions.

What did Toni Kroos say about Rudiger?

The German said: “Sergio painted a smile on his face. Things got heated. As for Antonio, I have to say: chapeau. He was one away from suspension and the next weekend there was Clasico. Which means at that moment that he couldn’t mess up. That was probably what slowed him down a bit. Otherwise, it would have been even more fun.”

Antonio Rudiger might have been suspended due to a confrontation with Sergio Ramos. Hence, Carlo Ancelotti would have only two central defenders, Nacho Fernandez and David Alaba. Rudiger has been a consistent presence for Real Madrid this season. Especially since Eder Militao’s injury. And thus has risen to the occasion as he did towards the end of the previous season. While Sergio Ramos may have scored an own goal against Barcelona a few weeks ago, his actions in the recent situation did not end up benefiting the team. Hence Toni Kroos was right in praising his German counterpart.
